Hong Kong (June 2011)

Written May 2015: Another throwback blog of a short trip to Hong Kong in June 2011.

We took >40mins train ride to Tsimshatsui MTR station which is 5mins walk to our hotel, Holiday Inn Golden Mile.

The room was clean, comfortable and cosy renovated, with 2 queen-sized beds. (already too squeezy then that my dad prefers to sleep on the carpet. -_-")
For day 1, we just had dinner and hang around the TsimShaTsui and MongKok area.

Day 2
After a delightful Dim Sum breakfast, we took targeted to reach Ocean Park by 10am.
Adult - 250KHD, Child - 125HKD, 9.30am - 8.00pm

In the evening, we rushed down to Victoria Harbour to catch the nightly 8pm 'Symphony of Lights' multimedia show, involves more than 40 buildings on both sides of the harbours, which is to last 13mins.

Named as the 'World's Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show' by Guinness World Records, coloured lights, laser beams and searchlights perform in an unforgettable all-round spectacle synchronised to music and narration that celebrates the energy, spirit and diversity of Hong Kong. There are five main themes: Awakening, Energy, Heritage, Partnership, and the finale, Celebration.
A Symphony of Lights
Hmm...maybe because that the sky was not as clear and a humid evening, the lightings were not as spectacular and captivating as we saw it some years back. The walk by the harbour this time is not as pleasant too as there wasn't much breeze. Anyway, no complains from the kids.

Day 3
Stanley Market & Murray House & Beach (A place where we always see in HK drama serials)

Actually there's nothing much to the market and jetty and the weather was so hot, the best thing we had there was buying ice-cram from an mobile ice-cream truck. Ha!

HongKong Bulldog

Acting cool in the hotel.
Wish they have this in Spore too, disposable toilet seat cover in public toilets.

Supermarketing in one of the malls near our hotel.

Day 4
Sai Kung Town & Promenade

It was a fulfilling scrumptious seafood dinner meal we had. 3 types of crabs, lobsters, scallops, prawns, abalone. BBuurrpp....

There, our small little Mel enjoying her all time favourite fruit.

The big grouper tank outside the restaurant we ate.

Day 4
Our breakfast before going back Spore.
Our baby Miu......had good fun with her but poor thing that her tongue had a bad flare during the trip. She was brave and din whine but there was one night that she really felt uncomfortable and couldn't sleep well.
