W Hotel & Shangri La Rasa Sentosa Staycation (Dec 2013)

December 3D/2N Staycation

Had a crazy year at work and as such decided to reward myself and also treat my family to a year end Sentosa staycation!

Day 1

W Hotel Sentosa Cove
Chose this hotel in Sentosa Cove cause I still wana feel tourisy, out of Singapore (main island) and also I think my parents and hubby would like the experience of staying in a nice hotel by the sea and a Marina.

We were greeted by a whiff of the luxurious musky scent of the lobby when the lift opened.

The lobby is like an art gallery with designer lounge furniture and beautiful chandelier lights.

Din take much of pic as I was too busy doing the check in.

We were impressed by the modern chic designed room, from relaxing mood lightings, incredible floor coverings, wall textures, colours, decor to the surround sound system, this room is just so different from rest of the other hotels.
The room seems dark as we yet explored how to use the mood lightings.

While Myn & Miu naps, Mel, my mum and I decided went around to explore the hotel.....

After the nap was a short dip at the big pool................

After the swim, we took a shuttle bus to RWS for dinner and evening walk and back to hotel for more pic and just R&R for the night.

No point paying $500/nite for a room and spending time to enjoy it right.... -_-

There....Myn Myn all comfy in her PJ and ready for a good night ZZZ to recharge for tomorrow's fun!

 Day 2

W Hotel has impressed us again...with their fabulous spread of breakfast buffet.

The buffet items were more exquisite compared to many other hotel breakfast. Refreshing pure fresh juice were in bottles, nicely done egg benedict with bacon, sausages, waffles, dim sum, mini tarts, chinese dishes, smoke salmon, salad spread and many others....

Next, a stroll by the seaside park to walk off our breakfast ......

Din take much pic of the Marina cause we have been here several times...

There was an interactive fish tank table top that engaged and amused us for a while.

Back to slacking and monkeying around in the room....

Ha! Of cos with such a nice bathroom and bathtub, we went for another dip before checking out.
Strangely..most kids only have memories of their hotel room and bathtub time after trips....

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa

It was a quick check in at Shangri-La. We were given the newly-renovated level room which is more spacious and direct access to the pool.

After settling down, we made the kids to have a nap to re-charge. With the comfortable bed, they fell asleep quite instantly and look at their expression........sweet nap dreams....

Next, we went to the pool but I din bring my hp along for pics.
And we came back to the room with a surprise cake from the hotel. It was a yummy thick choc-fudge cake. I almost did get a taste of it cos the kids were fighting over it.
The gals continued their waterplay in the bathtub.
After shower, all are changed pretty for our buffet dinner @ the hotel's Silver Shell cafe!
The buffet spread is really good...in terms of variety and quality....
Look at the seafood stacked on the plates and trays...the outdoor grilled counter serves big cuts of steaks, satays, jumbo prawns and squid. I love the salad, appetizers, soups, cold prawns, oysters, crayfish, sashimi, grilled meat and such. The deserts were great too!

The restaurant is children friendly with the kids buffet line that the kids can help themselves to their food. I can enjoy my dinner peacefully without having to follow them and let them enjoyed going to and fro to the kids' buffet line to self serve.

If you have craving for seafood buffet......this is definitely a good choice!
Again...not much pic of the buffet cause pic cant be eaten and I cant wait to try all the food!!!

Next early morning, just when it breaks dawn, I sneaked out with Mel to pick seashells....it was a peaceful Mel and me time at the beach ..doing one of the things Mel enjoys most. Just like when I was small like her.
The morning beach was serene and picturesque with no others footprints but just mine and Mel's.

After that we went back to the room and get ready for breakfast. Same, it was a good and quality spread of food and the kids again enjoyed their kids' buffet line.

Miu's fav....

After breakfast, Mel went to join the hotel's kids' club activities - 2hrs.
Mel and Miu only cause Myn was too young to join......so again so brought her for a dip at the pool, indoor playgroundand also her personal bathtub time.
My dad and hubby also had rounds of fun and competitive of table tennis.
We had a late checkout. Time for home.

It was a great staycation. Maybe next time, we can check out the RWS hotels..=o)

Below are some random pics taken....

That's all for this Staycation blog. Good Night!!
